WHO WE ARE

Roanhorse Consulting (RCLLC) is an indigenous women-led think tank. RCLLC works with unheralded communities, businesses, organizations, and individuals to achieve and aspire their self-determination through forging communities of practice, strengthening indigenous evaluation methods, creating equity through entrepreneurship, and encouraging economic empowerment from within. RCLLC co-designs wealth and power building efforts that directly invest in our leaders, support meaningful data collection informed by indigenous research approaches, and helps build thoughtful community-led projects that enforce values that put people at the center.

Vanessa Roanhorse, CEO, got her management chops working for 7 years at a Chicago-based nonprofit, the Delta Institute, focused throughout the Great Lakes region to build a resilient environment and economy through creative, sustainable, market-driven solutions. Vanessa oversaw many of Delta’s on-the-ground energy efficiency, green infrastructure, community engagement programs, and workforce development training. Vanessa is a 2019 Village Capital Money Matters Advisory Board Member, 2019 SXSW Pitch Advisor, sits on the local Living Cities leadership table, is a Startup Champions Network member, is an Advisor for emerging Navajo incubator, Change Labs, Advisor for Native Entrepreneurship in Residence Program, and is a board member for Native Community Capital, a native-led CDFI. She is a co-founder of Native Women Lead, an organization dedicated to growing native women into positions of leadership and business. Her academic education is in film from the University of Arizona but her professional education is from hands-on experience leading local, regional and national initiatives. Vanessa is Navajo living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. 

Olivia Roanhorse, MPH, Director, provides leadership and oversight of key policy, research and evaluation projects. Prior to joining RCLLC, Olivia was the Vice President of Programs for Notah Begay III Foundation for seven years where she oversaw the strategic and operational responsibilities for all program areas. Before returning to New Mexico in 2012, Olivia held several health program and policy positions in Chicago. She was a Policy Associate at the Ounce of Prevention Fund; a Project Coordinator for RWJF National Project: Finding Answers Program: Disparities Research for Change; and a Clinic Manager for Community Health, the largest free health clinic in Illinois. Olivia is currently pursuing her Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Olivia has a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Illinois in Chicago and an undergraduate degree from Colorado College. Olivia is Navajo and lives in Albuquerque, NM.

Jaime Gloshay, Program Manager, administers RCLLC’s diverse initiatives focused on thoughtful access to capital within Indian Country. Before joining RCLLC, she was a Community Loan Officer at Accion New Mexico, establishing their native lending program. Jaime is an Opportunity Finance Network fellow, a national fellowship, with the goal of ensuring equitable investment in underserved and disenfranchised communities in the Community Development Financial Institute (CDFI) industry. Jaime currently serves on Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s New Mexico 2020 (Statewide) Complete Count Commission and is a Co-Founder of Native Women Lead, an organization dedicated to supporting and growing Native American women entrepreneurs and leaders.  Jaime holds a Bachelor of Arts in Native American Studies and a Master’s in Public Administration with a focus on Nonprofit Management from the University of New Mexico. Prior to her work in the CDFI industry, Ms. Gloshay was a Local Census Office Manager on the Navajo Nation in which she oversaw recruiting, hiring, training, and implementation of over 2500 field and office employees on the Navajo Nation for the 2010 Decennial Census. Jaime is from the Navajo, White Mountain Apache, and Kiowa nations and lives in Albuquerque, NM.

Jennifer Lujan, Project Assistant, is a dynamic, forward-thinking professional with a desire to create economic development opportunities for Native Americans nationwide. Jennifer has a background in healthcare, with experience in both public and private sectors, spanning 10 years. In an effort to progress her career, she recently earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus in Operations and Marketing from the University of New Mexico (UNM) Anderson School of Management in early 2019. As a student at UNM, she served as the president of the American Indian Business Association where she focused on increasing the retention and graduation rates of Amerian Indian students at the UNM as well as to provide first-hand experiences to its members through networking, conferences, and internship opportunities. Jennifer is from the Pueblo of Isleta and Turtle Mountain Chippewa (Ojibwe) nations and lives on her Pueblo.

Blayne Greiner, Operations Manager, is a systems thinker, problem solver, technician that as applied these approaches to theater, teaching, urban agriculture, carpentry and equitable program design. Originally from Chicago, IL, Blayne learned his project development and management skills around Chicago’s non-profit urban agriculture community, first as an instructor for the Chicago Botanic Garden’s Windy City Harvest program and later as the urban farm manager for the Plant Chicago (a closed loop, net zero food production incubator). As Operations Manager, Blayne keeps the business running smoothly, wrangles data and provides support for RCLLC’s body of work. Blayne is also a secret Dadaist, avid cyclist and proud husband and father and lives in Albuquerque, NM.
