Daniel Oxendine

Research and Evaluation Associate

Daniel Oxendine is from the Lumbee Tribe (known as the People of the Dark Water), whose ancestral territory resides in Southeastern North Carolina, encompassing Robeson, Hoke, Cumberland, and Scotland Counties. He now lives in Denver, CO, on the ancestral lands of the Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Ute peoples.

Daniel’s work is driven by a passion for collaborative research and community engagement, with a focus on advocating for Indigenous representation in cultural institutions. He has worked in museums, archives, historical sites, and non-profits, contributing to projects centered on cultural preservation and fostering meaningful connections with communities.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Daniel is an avid sabre fencer who enjoys competing in tournaments, captaining his dodgeball team, exploring the outdoors, and spending time in coffee shops with a good book.
